- to raise awareness of eating disorders,
- to remember those who have lost their battle with an eating disorder, and
- to raise funds for the Eating Disorders Information Network (EDIN) and its prevention programs in schools and the community of Atlanta.
Merrick’s Walk in an annual event hosted by EDIN that started in memory of Merrick Ryan, who died in 2000 from complications of anorexia at the age of 19 years old. Merrick was an alum of Galloway School and was a freshman at Bates College in Maine when she passed away. She had talents and passions and dreams, and she was treasured by those who knew and loved her.

1PM: Check-in, grab your event Tshirt, browse our sponsor tables, enjoy music, and grab some pre-walk snacks
1:45 PM: We'll gather together to hear from multiple speakers who'll share about their journey to recovery.
2:00PM: Desiree will lead everyone in an easy dance pump-up routine before the walk
2:15PM: Walk the 2.7 mile loop around Chastain Park with hundreds of other Atlantans devoted to the same cause
3:30PM: Browse the sponsorship tables and we'll announce the team and individual prize winners
